The new year has some really exciting projects in the pipeline for Sally, which also signal some fascinating R&D to come with future Red Dog glass splashback projects.
We anticipate ‘intelligent glass’ is going to become a feature for us in due course, and as a step to grasping new technology, Sally is exploring using augmented reality in helping wider and more diverse audiences to connect with her own abstract landscape work.
At the moment, she has submitted an Arts Council grant application, proposing a new project called ‘Process & Performance’. to quote Sally_
I am looking at synergising my world of abstract painting and augmented reality, with the planned end result to reveal a unique AR documentary of an artist’s thoughts, movement and process.
Sally has already confirmed venues for the touring exhibition in 2020, including an amazing range of galleries in Bristol, and public visitor attractions such as ‘We the Curious’, who have agreed to host at one of their adult-only events which attract up to 1000 people. Sally would love for this work to reach and inspire people who would not normally come into a standard art gallery, to share her ideas and approach with a new audience_
My ambition is to reach a large cross section of the public and by exhibiting in both public spaces and art venues I hope this can be achieved! All we need now is approval and funding and the fun can begin!!
What a fascinating dive into the mind of such an energetic painter – we can’t wait to experience this!
