Our step-by-step process.
Whether your project is in a residential home or a commercial venue, Red Dog Glass Design glass art splashbacks and wall panels will infuse your scheme with energy and artistic impact.
Working collaboratively with homeowners, interior designers and architects, we offer two made-to-measure services_
Bespoke
Our bespoke clients enjoy an artistic reimagining of one of our current designs, all of which are based on lead artist Sally Coulden’s original abstract paintings. We digitally recreate your chosen piece of art so that it fits your space and then print it onto high-quality toughened glass. Think of it as painting with pixels! There’s no stretching of artwork, no pattern flipping or repeating, just a piece of original digital art that’s utterly unique to you and your home or commercial venue.
Commissions
For something truly exclusive, Sally takes on a small number of commissions each year. Working closely with you, she will help you to realise your creative vision, painting an original piece of abstract art to fit your brief.
If you have a particular theme in mind, maybe a colour, or an emotion, or even a special landscape, Sally will first create the abstract painting and then digitise it, ready for printing onto glass.
Whether you choose a bespoke piece or a commission, the whole process is completely tailored to your space, allowing you to showcase the transformative power of original art in your living environment.
And you are just nine steps away from making it happen!
Step One_ Share Your Dimensions or Ideas
Start your journey by letting us know a bit about your project. You can easily do this through our online contact form or by ringing us directly on 0117 907 4101.
Please share some rough dimensions and any other useful information, such as whether you need cut-outs for plug sockets. If you’ve contacted us via email and we have any questions, we’ll ring you and have a quick chat about your project, including sharing some very rough costs to give you an idea of your investment.
Step Two_ Video Consultation
The next step is a video consultation with Sally to explore your design options. We’ll look at your existing scheme and share some ideas and recommendations based on your requirements. Sally’s artwork falls into a few broad categories, including designs that are calming or energising. With a vast library of designs at your fingertips, we are confident that you’ll find something to complement and elevate your space.
We can also explore the option of commissioning Sally to create an original piece of art for you. This service is ideal for clients wanting something very exclusive. Typically, this includes boutique hotel designers wanting to create a strong sense of individuality, or owners of luxury private residences looking for one-off statement pieces.
Step Three_ Estimate and Design Phase
After the consultation, we will provide you with an estimate for your glass art splashback. Once you approve the estimate, we enter the design phase. This is when we will agree on the design and colours to be used, ready for your artwork to be digitally created.
The first milestone payment of 30% marks the start of the creative process.
Step Four_ Templating
To ensure absolute precision, we request your final measurements for the glass art splashback or wall panel.
We’d recommend using a professional templating service to ensure the dimensions that you supply are millimetre perfect. This is especially important if you need cut-outs, or if the splashback runs around a corner.
We recommend working with our production partner Optidek. They provide a professional templating and installation service and are kitchen and bathroom specialists. We can provide a quote for this extra service if required.
You’re more than welcome to choose your own templating service. A quick Google search will help you find a local company that can provide you with a quote for templating and/or installation.
Step Five_ Mock-up Creation
Investing in a glass art splashback is a big decision, so we want to make sure you’re completely happy with your design. We’ll ask you to share images of your space (mobile phone images are fine), and we will create a mock-up of your bespoke artwork in your actual space! This allows you to see your splashback in situ before it becomes a reality.
Step Six_ High-Resolution Image and Final Sign-Off
Once everything is agreed, we create the final high-resolution image that is production ready.
We will share it with you for final approval and when you are happy to proceed, we progress to the production phase.
Step Seven_ Production Phase
The artwork is sent to our UK manufacturing facilities. This is where your unique piece of glass will be first cut to shape and then toughened before the digital artwork is printed onto it.
At this stage, the second milestone invoice of 35% payment is triggered.
Step Eight_ Quality Control and Production
We believe in exceeding expectations and delivering exceptional quality. Your finished piece goes through a rigorous quality control process, which guarantees that your glass art splashback meets the highest standards, reflecting the high quality our clients expect and deserve.
Step Nine_ Delivery and Final Payment
The moment you’ve been waiting for has arrived! Your glass art splashback is securely couriered to your home in a purpose-made crate. We provide the necessary silicone adhesive for hassle-free fitting by your installation team. On safe delivery, the final milestone payment (35%) is due.
The whole process, from first contact to final delivery, usually takes around 6 weeks.
Let’s capture your vision and bring it to life on a bespoke art glass splashback!
